At Kidz Kastle Child Development Center our Infant and Toddler classrooms utilize our 'MAJOR FIVE' of intentional teaching strategy areas to guide lesson plan, teacher-student interactions and activity planning:

Strategies

Music, Drama, and the introduction to Creative Movement for Infant and Toddler are brought into Kastle Kidz daily activity, including our Baby Yoga program!
In small groups our teachers and liaison team lead small-group theater via nursery rhymes, dance and singing while playing instruments in group. These activities introduce individual gross motor functions for Kastle Kidz. |
Language Arts
Literacy

Our program's Intentional Teaching focuses on reading and storytelling combined with puppets and props, word play including rhyming, letter and sound recognition.
Teachers also emphasize vocabulary, receptive and expressive language. |
Motor
Development

Fine Motor Development via Manipulative Play is where our Kastle Kidz rotate between activities, such as power blocks or freedom painting or soft vinyl/foam or wooden puzzles.
High caliber developing of a Kastle Kidz's motor skill-sets will promote muscle strength, endurance, balance, coordination and their overall postural control. |

Infants and Toddlers take part in Developmentally Appropriate Practices(DAP) during classroom and outdoor Creative Art experiences. These are mainly open-ended projects, incorporating sensory materials as well as actual art materials such as paper, paints, glue and molding clay to encourage individual creativity.

Infants and Toddlers daily experiences are woven in everyday life. At the Kastle, we create daily lesson plans with our instructors that reflect this through many skill-based activity modules:
Counting, sequencing, sorting, measuring, cause and effect, memory games, puzzles, flat and 3 Dimensional geometric shapes, 'tiny chef' cooking, nature awareness, animal kingdom identification and their introduction to outerspace. |
